The only roster restriction is that a player must be legally allowed in a drinking establishment according to Town, State, and Federal Laws. Once a player has shot for a team, he/she is ineligible to play for any other WNDL team that season. ARTICLE lll - MATCHES Regular league competition is on Wednesday nights beginning at 7:30pm as scheduled by the league president. If for whatever reason, a match is rescheduled by the mutual consent of the involved team captains, it must be played within two (2) weeks. The match begins at 7:30pm. If one of the teams has not arrived by 8:00pm real time ( as opposed to bar time), the waiting team has the right to call a forfeit. A forfeit gives the waiting team the full 18 points. As stated in the beginning of this article, a phone call to the opposing captain will avert this unfortunate situation. Match content: Matches will consist of three rounds totaling 18 points. ROUND 1: Six (6) single's 301 games, double in,double out, worth 1 match point each. ROUND 2: Three (3) 2 person team cricket matches, 2 out of 3 for 2 match points each. ROUND 3: Three (3) 501 2 person teams, 2 out of 3, straight in, double out, 2 match points each. Selection of players: Before each round the captains will present to each other the names of the six players to participate in the ensuing round. Said names will be printed on the front of playing cards or other indistinguishably backed material and be presented face down. In the case of singles, there would be six individual cards. In the case of doubles, there would be three pairs of cards, and for 601, there would be two groups of three cards each. The visiting team will randomly select a home team card or group of cards followed by a home team selection from the visiting teams cards, going back and forth until all of the games in that round are set. Play Flow: The match will begin with the 301 round where two games will be played simultaneously. The home team has the prerogative of choosing the board that the match is to be played on if there is more than one board available. Because of the new format use 2 boards for all games all night, unless both captains agree on something else. To start all games, the visiting player throws for cork first. Winner of the cork starts the game. Scoring: Both teams will alternate scoring responsibilities. A scorekeeper can only tell the shooter what has been scored and can tell what is remaining. If a scorekeeper tells either team's player(s) what to shoot, the scorekeeper's team forfeits their current turn (if they are currently throwing) or their next turn ( if the opposing team is throwing). For a score to be recorded, the dart must remain in the board, untouched, until the score has been posted. Any dart bouncing off or falling out of the dartboard shall not be rethrown. Any dart falling out of the dartboard before the throw has been completed and the darts retrieved shall not count. The tips of the darts must remain in the board for the darts to be scored.( if one dart is thrown into the flight of the first dart,("robinhood"), only the first dart (the one with it's tip in the board), will be scored.
If a player throws out of turn, he/she forfeits that and the next turn with no score. Toe line violations will be strictly enforced. Players may not remove their darts from the board until their score is recorded and acknowledged by the opponent. In "01" games, the score stands after the next player shoots his/her first dart. That includes arithmetic errors. Protests: Any and all protests will be resolved by the president and judgement is final. A protest must be announced at the time the situation arises and an explanation must be hand written on the back of that nights score sheet with the signature of the protesting team captain. Multi-Match: When more than one match occurs in the same establishment, the visiting teams shall flip a coin to determin board use. Recording: ALL STAR POINTS, HIGH ON, HIGH OFFS, AND 180'S and submitting score sheets weekly to the secretary , to be received no later than 2 days following the match. Results must be phoned , faxed ,or e-mailed preferably Thursday or Friday, BUT NO LATER THAN SATURDAY MORNING! If a team does not phone in or mail in results within allotted time, it will constitute a loss of one point to the non‑reporting team, starting with the first occurrence. Use full names on score sheets. ARTICLE lV - POST SEASON / PLAYOFFS There will be a post season tournament to determine the league championship. Eligible teams may only use players who have shot in at least fifty percent (50%) of the teams matches. The playoff format will be announced by the league.
